A
look into some of the mods we have done and can do for you. Pickup
change, tremolo swap, locking tuners, any thing we do as an upgrade we
will post here.
|
You would probably be surprised
how nice you can get some of these Hamer import necks to play. The
one we put on here was a Slammer by Hamer Pacer neck, a cheap,
pretty crappy, for beginners guitar neck.
We can take these necks and do a few things to it (such as re-profile, level, and so
on.) and then finish it how ever you want it (like gloss, matte,
bare and so on.) By the time we are done with it it will
potentially play just as good as any new leading brand. A little bit
of maintenance and cleaning go a long way on an old neck. |
|
Slammer by Hamer
Pacer
This one is getting
a new neck and bridge. The neck is not Daytona proper but
has had the frets leveled and polished, filed completely
smooth on the sides, and had Sprezel locking tuners
installed. and the bridge is a genuine Daytona bridge
purchased on eBay.
|
1.
This is the before picture with the strat type 6
point bridge. We will be putting the Hamer Daytona
type bridge in this guitar and we will have to do
some modification to get it to fit. |
2.
We have the old bridge out.
|
3.
As you can see the tremolo side of the new bridge
hits the tremolo cavity before it reaches its proper
placement. It needs to go about another 1/4". |

4.
This is where we need to take a little meat off with our
Dremel.
|
|
5.
Only taking small amounts then testing the fit ensures you
wont over cut leaving an ugly hole around the tremolo plate.

|
6.
That's finished and it now looks more like a real
Hamer Daytona because of the bridge.
During the initial build the
volume knob was moved over and down for better hand
placement while playing. Palm muting is much easier like
this and this is always a custom option that we can do for
you. BYOP wired pick guards start at $12.00
With the volume knob
moved down we put a push button "bridge on" switch in the
original volume hole on the pick guard and that puts it in a
great place to switch seamlessly while playing. We can add a
"bridge on" switch to any pick guard or guitar starting at
$15.00. |

7.
We are also changing the type of neck, This is the old one,
it is more correct looking but it is a cheap "you cut the
headstock" paddle neck and is very crappy.
|

8.
Even though this is
not the proper style headstock for a Daytona it is a major
upgrade for playing, the old neck was cheap and the frets
were not finished well. If this guitar had the 2 point bridge it would be more
similar to a Hamer Slammer Series Daytona, but it will just
remain a confused Hamer.
|

9.
This is the 2nd Daytona clone we made, it has Daytona proper
strap buttons, bridge, and locking tuners.
The neck and
tremolo cover are completely incorrect, but with the work
that was done to the neck and all the upgrades from a stock
Slammer by Hamer Pacer have really paid off this thing plays
very nicely and with the HSH pickup configuration and the
"bridge on" switch it has a ton of tones and sounds sweet. |

These are a few
projects we completed in the past.
|

Older Jackson JS-10
We
installed EMG-HZ pickup set with plug in harness, and the
upgraded 2 point bridge. Also the tuners were replaced with
tuners that had the Jackson logo.
|

80's Floyd
Rose ESP clone
We had a request for a clone of an ESP strat from
the 80's with a few custom touches. You can order
one similar to this one starting at $130.00 or one
with a 6 point tremolo for $110.00. Just
email us the specs you want and we can make
your custom guitar a reality.
|
|
They will usually come to you with all the plastic
on the pick guard and tremolo cover so don't be
discouraged if the pick guard looks a little matte
color, when the protective plastic film is removed
it will be the color you requested. |
We have made several custom clones one of the most
popular ones is Vito Bratta's Steinberger from the
80's band White Lion. His ESP Strat is very
popular too. These are not for sale but you can
custom order them from $230.00 for any of the
Steinberger versions, and $160.00. |

Hamer Slammer Series -
Coming up
|
|

This is the guitar that
we used on the
Restorations page to do the step by step
restoration/ maintenance on. It is also getting an
upgraded set of Calig Pickups so it also lands here
on the upgrades page. |
The wiring harness and pickups will be replaced and
as with all of our guitars the original parts will
be packed and kept with this guitar so if it ever
needs to go back to stock it can at any time. |
